Structured Situation

I have never considered myself a person that falls under one specific style category.  I do however, tend to become obsessed with certain pieces that I can incorporate into every outfit and occasion possible.  For example, in Spring 2010 I bought a SUPER on sale jean shirt at the Gap (final price tag was literally $7.99).  Since then, I have managed to wear this shirt at least once a week.  I dress it up with chunky jewelry and a skirt at night; I dress it down as a coverup or "sweatshirt" at the beach.  I literally make sure it is readily available at all times.  I have recently had this same feeling with the amazing vintage briefcase style purses I am seeing ALL OVER Manhattan.  The bags are all very structured with clean edges, giving them a classy, old-school vibe.  Every time I see this bag style, I can picture it with a new outfit.  The first one I saw and fell in love with was the gorgeous Ralph Lauren Calfskin Crossbody (pictured above right).  While I think we all enjoy a good splurge once in awhile, we also have to be realistic.  I knew I could find a similar style purse for a more reasonable cost, thus resulting in this blog post.  As you will see below, this purse can be found all over and the price tags are much easier to swallow.  If you aren't into the classic brown leather, a lot of the designers offer the same style in a brighter color.  I have a feeling once I make the big decision on which purse to buy,  it will be featured as a One Piece (along with the jean shirt).  Enjoy!
